New homes, jobs and a world class convention centre for Reading.
Reading Football Club Prop Co Ltd, a partly-owned subsidiary of Reading Football Club, is inviting local residents to view proposals for Royal Elm Park – the transformation of an undeveloped parcel of land into an exceptional mixed-use development with Madejski Stadium at its heart, providing a world-class convention centre, new homes, over 1000 new jobs and delivering an exciting new mix of leisure facilities, including an ice rink, restaurants and a large public square.
The convention centre will bring together year-round business and cultural events which will benefit the people of Reading and the local economy, designed to meet existing market demand and act as a catalyst for growth in Reading and across Berkshire. Designed to accommodate up to 3,000 delegates, the centre will provide flexible, adaptable spaces – capable of facilitating a range of events from business meetings, conferences and exhibitions to live entertainment including music, sport and comedy.
Reading, like much of the South East, is in need of new homes. This development proposes to deliver over 600 new homes on this site, many of which will overlook a new, publicly accessible park of more than 10,000sq m in size – comparable to approximately one and a half football pitches.
The public consultation exhibitions will be taking place on the following days:
Thursday 15 October 2015, 3pm – 8pm
Venue: Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Madejski Stadium, RG2 0FL
Wednesday 21 October 2015, 2pm – 6pm
