Planning Consent on a Former University Hall of Residence for 34 Dwellings

The Task

We were instructed by the University of Reading to manage the application process in respect of Wells Hall, Upper Redlands Road – previously in use as a hall of residence, but now surplus to University requirements. Reading Borough Council were seeking 50% affordable housing.

The Outcome

Outline planning permission was issued for 34 dwellings with the affordable housing provision reduced on viability grounds to 17.5%.
