Proctor and Gamble have taken a lease on Unit 2, 1 Eastern Road a modern warehouse / industrial facility of 27,000 sq ft. Haslams acted for the Landlord F&C Reit while Jones Lang LaSalle acted for the Tenant.
Roger Reid at Haslams commented “Whilst the office market in Bracknell is challenging, the industrial market is reasonably buoyant and could offer a boost to the town in the coming months. A number of other industrial occupiers are also rumoured to be considering the town and there is also a good chance of some new development in the not too distant future.”
The re-emergence of Bracknell as a serious industrial location is unsurprising given the towns strategic location between the M3 and M4 motorways.
Historically, a number of major organisations have seen the benefit of locating in the town and a number have chosen to locate major operations there such as Cable and Wireless, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Waitrose and Dell. For Proctor and Gamble the decision to locate in the town is yet another endorsement by a major corporation.
The letting reflects a recent increase in demand for units of 5,000 to 30,000 sq ft in the Bracknell area with a number of companies either looking for space or under offer.
