IQ Winnersh an ‘Ideal’ Location for your Business

Great British brand Ideal Heating has selected Building 630 at IQ Winnersh for its new office and training centre of excellence, with Haslams acquisition team acting on their behalf.

“We are really happy to have secured our new southern base at IQ Winnersh, thanks to the assistance of Haslams,” commented James Parkinson, Marketing Director of Ideal Heating. “We have been looking for the right location for some time now, since it was imperative that it not only had top-notch facilities, but access to excellent transport links too, as we’ll be welcoming installers from around the country when we launch our new training programme.”

Haslams, selected to perform the property search for Ideal Heating, fulfilled their client’s needs by finding the right property ‘off market’. This produced an additional challenge, since at the time Building 630 was occupied by Bang & Olufsen, who also wanted to relocate. With the efforts of SEGRO (the landlord), Haslams, and Strutt and Parker (Bang & Olufsen’s agent) Ideal leased Building 630 and Bang & Olufsen were relocated to Building 110 on the Park. Neil Seager, Partner at Haslams expands: “Tri-party transactions are always challenging, but there was a real will from all sides to get this done. The result of which I think is two happy tenants and one landlord!”

One of the key functions of Ideal Heating’s new southern base is to provide a superb location for a raft of training courses, which will equip heating engineers with the knowledge and skills to fit Ideal Heating’s product range. The firm has been keeping British homes warm for more than 100 years, and remains at the forefront of the industry, setting new standards and expanding technological boundaries. Today’s innovative product range includes energy-efficient boilers, controls, and new energy solutions such as solar thermal, photovoltaics (solar PV), and heat pumps.

IQ Winnersh is a mixed use landscaped business park with integrated transport links and a range of on-site amenities to include:

New concept 174 bed 4-star Holiday Inn Hotel incorporating restaurant, bar, conference facilities, gym, sauna and 18m swimming pool
Retail centre
On-site coffee shop and café
Event space Banking facilities

“We knew Ideal wanted a hotel nearby, as this would provide a convenient accommodation option for their training course attendees, so once they heard about our new 174 bed 4-star Holiday Inn on the park, we knew we had a good chance of leasing them one of our properties,” commented Paul Lewis, Regional Director, Industrial at SEGRO.
