We are delighted to announce that John Short, Consultant and former Senior Partner of Haslams, has recently been awarded a Distinguished Fellowship at the University of Reading. The firm has been proud to act as property advisers and chartered surveyors to the University since the 1900’s and John has been our lead partner advising the University for nearly 40 years.
In recognition of his long service to the University the Chancellor, Sir John Madejski, and Vice Chancellor, Sir David Bell, conferred the Fellowship upon John at a recent meeting of the University Court on the Whiteknights Campus.
Steven Smith, our current senior partner, said “I know John will be immensely proud of the award which is well deserved and reflects well on the firm too. We have been delighted to be involved with the development of the University over recent years”. The firm has been at the forefront in enabling the University to obtain planning permission on many hundreds of acres of land which have been sold for development and has raised millions to enable the University to fund its educational objectives and enable the delivery of world class research.
