Be Forewarned: Haslams Celebrates its 175th Anniversary Next Year

Haslams Chartered Surveyors is making plans to celebrate next year as it’s the firm’s 175th anniversary since it was founded in 1838. One of the oldest established firms in Reading and indeed one of the oldest surveying and agency practices in the country, the Partners and Staff intend to mark the occasion with a series of events throughout the year.

Plans are under way to make sure both clients and potential clients, as well as professional colleagues, are aware of the cause for celebration but just for the moment the Partners intend to keep under wraps exactly what it is they have planned.

Senior Partner Steven Smith said: “For the business to have survived for so long we must be doing something right. The firm is now in its best health since I can recall joining a good few decades ago. Despite the recession we are more than holding our own against the competition; seeing our market share increase and the quality of instructions improving.”

He added: “We are all looking forward to promoting our 175th anniversary next year while never forgetting in a fast changing world that you cannot stand still. We are continuing to invest in new technology and good people to enable us to provide the client with the cutting edge advice it expects these days; but it is sometimes nice to reflect and look back at what has been achieved and next year is an opportunity to do just that”.
