Snowdon Challenge Complete!

You will be pleased to hear that the “Haslams Harriers” – Roger, Will, Sarah and George – completed the Snowdonia Challenge course on Saturday 11th June in 9hrs 48 minutes!

The multi-discipline endurance event put the team through their paces to complete a 40 mile bike ride around the mountainous roads of Snowdonia, climbing 3,560 ft up and back down Mount Snowdon and canoeing 1.5 miles across Llyn Gwynant.

Roger Reid commented “It was a fantastic effort from all the team to make it around the pretty gruelling course with tricky conditions in places. We were all incredibly pleased to have completed it in under 10 hours. A huge thank you to everyone that supported us and with the help of your donations we were very pleased to raise circa £2,250 for charity Regain, well over the teams £2,000 target.”

Roger continued “It was interesting to hear while we were there that in the 16 years the Snowdonia Challenge has been running Regain have raised over £1.6m towards the support and care of Tetraplegics and their families.”

Regain aims to help those injured to go on and lead independent and fulfilling lives, assisting in providing equipment and facilities to improve mobility, communication, education and employment opportunities. They also work hard to increase awareness of the risks and educate to reduce the number of accidents resulting in tetraplegia.

For anyone that would like to support the charity there is still time to donate via our JustGiving page:- https://www.justgiving.com/HaslamsSnowdoniaChallenge
